As we finished learning about area and measurement, students were given the task to make a m² out of coloured paper. From their construction, students were able to see the vast difference between a cm² and a m². We then discussed situations where we would measure using meters as opposed to centimeters, for example measuring the area of the chalkboard or the classroom floor.
